what is breathwork?

The O Breath Technique is a wholistic therapy. The corner stones of the practice is combining sound, colour and breath. Currently, there are many variations of breathwork therapies; Rebirthing, transformational, holotropic, functional, shamanic and the multitude of pranayama practices that have been present for millennia. However, at its core, all breathwork changes our physiology to a greater or lesser degree and therefor affects our emotional and psychological state.

it is a complete and holistic science. To take one part alone, whether that be breath, neural feedback, asana or any other aspect and utilise it in a one pointed way is a reductionist approach and will not serve the entire being. With the O Breathwork these techniques are designed to be utilised together, in an intelligent, elegant and integrated fashion so every aspect of the being is addressed.

We take into account exactly what that person is going through uniquely, what their trauma looks like, what state their nervous system is in, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of an illness and prescribing the breath like medicine. We use an entire therapeutic approach combining a unique combination of healing techniques.

WHAT IS THE
O BREATH
TECHNIQUE?

The O Breath Technique is a wholistic therapy. The corner stones of the practice is combining sound, colour and breath. Currently, there are many variations of breathwork therapies; Rebirthing, transformational, holotropic, functional, shamanic and the multitude of pranayama practices that have been present for millennia. However, at its core, all breathwork changes our physiology to a greater or lesser degree and therefor affects our emotional and psychological state.

The best place to start when explaining the O Breath Technique is by first beginning with understanding your relationship to your breath, your mind and your body. Learning how to engage the breath to intentionally calm or activate your nervous system, or, as is the case with the O Breath Technique, expand your consciousness through breath.

This is where we begin to uncover hidden truths, answers, awareness and inner knowing.

We do this by combining a very specific set of universal principles, beginning with frequency and colour. Did you know that as a thought enters your mind it has a particular frequency and the aligning emotion, a colour? It’s true! And should we attach to these thoughts, they are sent to our brain and thus influence our nervous system.

Were you also aware that every cell on the human body has a receptor for sound?

What this enables us to do is ‘communicate’ with every cell and fibre of your being using a specific combination of frequency specific music, which then elicits a vibrational response from the cell. This often looks like an emotional release. However, with the O Breath Technique, the facilitator becomes energetically in sync and in tune with you as they move you up and down, over and through a sensory sound experience, that is best suited to you and your state of being, at the time. This combination of breath and sound takes the ‘guess work’ out of breathwork and creates a powerful and aligned healing experience for the breather. Music creates a resonance system for the soul to communicate through – this allows for both trauma release, but also deep cellular remembering into the parts of ourselves we have forgotten.

It truly is like no other therapy on Earth.

Breathe deeply, until sweet air extinguishes the burn of fear in your lungs and every breath is a beautiful refusal to become anything less than infinite. – D. Antoinette Foy

WHY BREATHE?

“Breath is the magnificent dance of mind, body, spirit through the transcendence of time. It is the intrinsic unison between vibrational strings of colourful sounds and the musical colours that weaves the bridge across the depths of the voice, of the soul and into the connection of all that is.” - Simone Louise

When the person, is in tune with the cosmos, then the cosmos is resonating in the person. When you become aware of this, consciousness reaches cosmic dimensions. The O Technique and The O Breathwork is a combination of equal parts, sound, colour, breath.

From the moment we entered this world we took our first inhale, to the moment we exit we will take our very last exhale... Perhaps that within itself can spark your curiosity and open your mind to the idea that breathing is living.

That your breath is your essence of life... and when we are able to breathe freely and fully, we are able to live freely and fully... as we no longer have a resistance to life but instead, we embrace it.

We simply breathe and do not resist.

Since your breath is your life force, you have the power within you to transform everything that has held you in fear and doubt, into a space for new beginnings, enlightenment, freedom, love, abundance…whatever it is that you desire.

As we become more connected to our breath, relaxing into its extraordinary force, we are liberated into discovering our hidden truths, answers, awareness, and knowing's.

Ultimately allowing you the choice and freedom to create an empowered life and come home to your true self.

THE BODY'S Science

Have you ever noticed when you are excited, or angry, or scared that your breathing changes and the first thing someone tells you is to "… just breathe...just breathe...."

This is because your breath is a mirror to every emotion you experience and when your breath is short and shallow you may experience feelings of overwhelm, stress and anxiousness but when your breath is slow and free flowing you will experience feelings of ease and calm.

Currently as a society we are dysfunctional breathers leading stressful lives. Thus, meaning our breath has become constricted which leads to a deprivation of oxygen, tension in the body, dysregulating nervous systems, compromised digestive system, and overall damaging our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing,

However, there is a solution, and you have much more control than you think.

Since our respiration is the only autonomic function we can control, if we learn to harness our breath, it can lead to a range of adaptations that enable us to respond to stress effectively and efficiently, no longer allow our emotions to overwhelm us and overall lead a happier and healthier life.
